Matthieu Simard, writer

Matthieu Simard was born in Montreal in 1974. He studied law at the University of Montreal and journalism in Quebec City. The caustic and devastating humor of his first three novels, Échecs amoureux et autres niaiseries, Ça sent la coupe and Douce moitié earned him to be cast as "one of the most promising writers of his generation" by La Presse. His fourth novel, Llouis qui tombe tout seul, was nominated for the Grand Prix littéraire Archambault 2008. Author, blogger, columnist and advertising designer, Matthieu Simard held a humor column in the Journal de Montréal for over a year and is a regular contributor to Urbania Magazine. In 2008-2009, Matthieu Simard published Pavel, a literary series, whose first episode, Plus vivant que toutes les pornstars réunies (More Alive Than All The Pornstars Combined), was finalist in the prestigious Governor General's Literary Awards 2009.
